Polishing Cloths

The Akasel polishing cloths for metals and other materials are developed and produced at our facilities in Denmark and we can therefore guarantee the uniformity and quality of every polishing cloth. It also means that apart from the standard sizes, we can provide any size or diameter of our self-adhesive polishing cloths – up to 1250 mm on request.

The Akasel polishing cloths are available in two different versions; as self-adhesive polishing cloths (Aka-) and to be used on a magnetic support system (Mag-). All Akasel polishing cloths have several advantages.

Diamond Products

We offer one of the largest ranges of diamond products, high-quality 2-in-1 diamond suspensions, a carefully adjusted mix of diamond suspension and lubricant, traditional diamond suspensions, diamond sticks, diamond pastes and diamond sprays. All our diamond products are developed and produced at our facilities in Denmark, ensuring the best performing products at an affordable price.

We carefully select diamonds with uniform geometry and narrow tolerances and use these to manufacture products with a very high diamond concentration. Contrary to competitive products, we use the same concentration of diamonds in ct/l (carat/litre) independent of the grain size in all our diamond products. How many ct/l depends on the specific diamond product. This will either give you higher removal rates and shorter preparation times or allow you to reduce dosing and thus your cost.

Consequently, you will always obtain reproducible results with uniform material removal and excellent surface finish. Both diamond type, concentration and grain size distribution are stated on the labels to allow you to select the product that is best suited for your preparation requirements and to compare it with other products. All our diamond products come in sizes from 15-1 µm and for specific products even smaller grain sizes, down to 0.05 µm/50 nm are available.

Oxide Polishing

Some materials require the use of sub-micron sized oxide polishing suspensions to remove the last deformations. For general applications alumina suspension is used, and for the more demanding applications silica suspensions are the best choice. The silica suspensions perform a chemical-mechanical polishing action. During polishing, the sample surface is slightly attacked. The resulting layer is removed by the sub-micron silica grains, leaving the sample surface absolutely deformation-free. For water sensitive materials or materials with water sensitive inclusions our water-free fumed silica suspension is recommended.

Lubricants

We offer a very broad range of lubricants, enabling you to choose exactly the product you need for your preparation. Lubricants serve as lubricating and cooling liquid. All our lubricants are optimised to provide high removal rate and optimal surface finish in the shortest possible time at an affordable cost.

Our water-based lubricants and Aka-Lube Clear are based on a two-component system. They contain particles sized in the nano range to allow the lubricant to get into the area where the actual cutting action between the diamonds and the sample is taking place. Therefore, these lubricants are the optimal choice for the highest possible removal rate and finest surface finish.
